Your comparison files stay on your device

Comparison runs on the computer or phone you are using. Your original files are not modified.

Files and results

Files selected in the comparison workspace are used only for the current task. The website does not receive or store their contents, filenames, or comparison results.

Refreshing, closing the page, leaving the workspace, or resetting the task clears the selected files and results. Download an Excel report first if you need to keep the result.

Saved setups

A saved setup remembers sheet names, matching columns, columns to compare, mappings, and comparison rules so you can reuse them. It does not contain your Excel business data or results.

Setups are stored in your current browser. Clearing this website’s browser data deletes them. You can download setup files as backups. If browser storage is unavailable, you can still compare files and download a setup backup.

Setup files include the name you enter, sheet names, and column names. Review those details before sharing a setup.

Downloaded reports

Excel reports download to your device. Your browser’s download settings determine the location. Closing the website does not delete downloaded reports; keep them in a suitable location.

Website access records

Opening the website and loading sample files require an internet connection. The hosting service may log website requests. These records do not include the contents of your selected Excel files.

Feedback you choose to send

When you use Send feedback and submit the form, your message, optional contact information, and selected attachments upload to this website’s server for an administrator to review. Feedback does not automatically include comparison files, cell contents, or results.

Attachments are stored in a protected server directory. Only signed-in administrators can view or download them; there are no public file links. Review attachments before submitting. Contact information is optional.

Anonymous visits and usage statistics

The deployment can enable the website’s own analytics, Umami, or both. The website’s analytics stores a random browser ID to count visitors and estimate whether a page is still being viewed. Umami records public page visits anonymously. Both can count comparison starts, completed comparisons, and reports generated and downloaded.

These records exclude Excel files, filenames, sheet names, column names, cell values, and comparison results. They also exclude search text and URL query parameters. The website handles its own analytics. If Umami is enabled, page visits and fixed action events are also sent to the configured Umami service. Analytics does not automatically collect page contents and is not used for advertising.

The website’s analytics ID identifies a browser, not your real identity. A different device, browser, or cleared site storage creates a new visitor. Its active-view status expires after about two minutes. Raw visit events are kept for 90 days; cumulative visitor counts and daily totals remain. Umami uses its own visitor identification, so its counts cannot be added to the website’s counts. Umami retention depends on that service’s configuration.
